thank you from ian and ina!

We had a wonderful wedding on October 15, 2022.

Whether you were celebrating with us in person or sending good vibes from afar, we appreciated your love and well-wishes on our big day. It meant a lot to know so many loved ones were with us and thinking of us. Thank you!

Thanks in particular to our family and friends who helped us pull everything together. We couldn't have done it without you.

We also want to thank our amazing venue, Memory Lane Heritage Village, whose event team (mostly volunteers!) pulled out all the stops to put on a flawless event. You can read more about Memory Lane on our venue page.

what a wedding!

We're happy to say we both had a total blast at our wedding. We truly got to enjoy every minute of it.

Christina's dad performed the ceremony and her mom walked her down the aisle. Ian's niece was our flower girl and his brother-in-law held the rings.

We had 60 guests with us. Like magic, the rain held off for the entire event.

During dinner, we enjoyed speeches from our dear friend Jessica and from our parents. There were laughs and tears. We did actually manage to eat!

You don't usually see a bride emcee her own wedding reception, but it's Christina's favourite thing to do, so she did! It was the most fun she's ever had.

After dinner, we enjoyed wedding cake and cupcakes from Layers Cupcakes and a huge buffet of desserts made by Ian and his family.

It'll be a couple of months before our awesome photographer is finished working on the many photos he captured during the day.

In the meantime, we're delighted to share an early "sneak peek" gallery - click here to see wedding photos.

Did you take any photos at our wedding you'd like to share with us? We'd love to see! Email them to christina.macdonald@gmail.com or ian.ac.sinclair@gmail.com, or message us on social media.

music

Special thanks to a new friend, Patrick, for running the sound during the ceremony, and to an old friend, Conor, for troubleshooting the speakers for our dance.

We had some legendary dancers with us on the dance floor. Ian's playlist kept us going until 11:30 pm (which is late for us, we're not 19 anymore).

Here are all the songs we enjoyed during our wedding (or, if you don't have a Spotify account, here are 25-second samples of all the songs we enjoyed during our wedding 🙄).

Christina walked down the aisle to "Blackbird" by The Beatles.
Our triumphant ceremony exit was to "My Life is Better with You" by Montaigne (a sweet and happy song, and also the theme song to one of our favourite podcasts, My Brother, My Brother and Me).
Our first dance was to "Something" by The Beatles.
Christina danced with her father and Ian danced with his mother to Harry Nilsson's recording of Irving Berlin's "Always".
Before the ceremony and during cocktail hour, we played romantic, lo-fi, 20s-40s jazz tunes to suit our vintage venue.
Lastly, here's Ian's epic playlist from our wedding reception (whittled down over the course of the night from its original 5+ hours of tunes).
